Osunbor Shows Solidarity with Edo State Workers on Workers’ Day
In showing his solidarity with the Edo State workers in particular and workers generally everywhere in the world, Sen. (Prof.) Oserheimen Osunbor eulogized the Edo State workers and their counterparts everywhere in the world for their resilience, doggedness and spirit to conquer in any field which they find themselves.
Wishing Edo State workers a happy Workers Day, Senator Osunbor commended the workers for their efforts in ensuring that Edo State functions, he encouraged them to be persistent in their continuous support for the progress of Edo State.
He recounted the importance of the Edo workforce and said without them the state cannot achieve any form of development and as such workers should be seen and taken as occupying a very important position in Nation building and by implication in building Edo State.
Osunbor further applauded the Edo State workers in the private and public sectors for their contributions to the development of Edo State, he said the role the workers play in the infrastructural and socio-economic advancement of Edo State cannot be overemphasized.
Sen. (Prof.) Oserheimen Osunbor harps on manpower development, he opined that training and retraining of workers locally and internationally would enhance their expertise and increase their skills in boosting development in Edo State.
As the world celebrates Workers Day today, Senator Osunbor celebrates the Edo State workers and implored every employer of labour in Edo State to take the welfare of their workers very seriously, he said this is important if workers must be committed to their work, efficiently and effectively.
He noted the harsh conditions the average Nigerian workers face in their various workplaces, which have left some with various stages of disability and death in some cases. Senator Osunbor frowned seriously at the delay in paying wages, especially retirees’ entitlement. Assuring them that the condition of work in Edo State will definitely improve, he said Senior citizens who have put the better part of their lives in active service for the progress of their motherland should not be made to go through rigor before receiving their entitlements.
